Wealth of Diversity
In order to preserve the tradition and culture of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, CAA Baščaršija has designed a project called "Wealth of Diversity" and presented it to the public tonight. The project was done with the support of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, and its primary objective is the preservation of cultural heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its people without exception.
The intention is to enrich the cultural tourist offer of the Canton of Sarajevo in this way and to preserve the folk costumes, traditional songs, as well as the entire culture and heritage from oblivion. Board member of the CAA Baščaršija and project manager Namir Čomaga explained that all this is now integrated into a catalog that will be available to anyone who wants to know what costumes were worn in which parts of BiH and at what time, as well as other features of the BiH people. "The traditional songs from BiH are a bit neglected. When it comes to traditional music, there is always a mention of sevdalinka, which is fine, but we should not forget about this type of singing that is unduly neglected," Čomaga added.
The project promoters will also try to arrange with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of KS to distribute these catalogs to all primary schools in Sarajevo, so that children can learn about the tradition. Within this project, tourist postcards with folk costume designs from Sarajevo were made, which will be given to the Cantonal Tourist Board as a way of promoting the City. It is planned that in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, CAA Baščaršija will organize five concerts in front of the Sarajevo Cathedral of Jesus Sacred Heart, with the aim of enriching the cultural offer of the capital of BiH.
